SCISA Music Festival

All students interested in participating in the SCISA Music Festival, please let Miss Brantley Graham know by Tuesday, January 25th. Students may participate by singing or playing instruments. We would also like to enter a small choral group composed of the high school chorus members. See Miss Alexis Kelley if you are interesed.

Beauty Pageant to be Held

The TCA Beauty Pageant will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 6:00 pm in the gym. Entry forms are due on Monday, Jan. 24th. The pageant is sponsored by the TCA PTO. Come out and support the girls.

High School Math Team Competes

Congratulations to Alexis Kelley and Bryce Elmore for being high scorers and medal winners at the SCISA High School Math Meet on January 18th. Alexis is a senior and Bryce is a freshman.

ETV Visits TCA Faculty

Teachers participated in a professional development seminar conducted by Ms. Donna Thompson and Mr. Brack Clemons from the South Carolina ETV organization. Faculty members were trained in various elements of the ETV offerings such as: OnePlaceSC, Knowitall.org, StreamingSC, and Teachers' domain.

Out With the Old, In With 2011

Hope your Christmas vacation was restful and refreshing. We even had snow to entertain us. January will prove to be a busy month for us. Be sure to check the school calendar for important dates. SCISA events include the regional spelling bee on Jan. 13th, and the high school math meet on Jan. 18th. Report cards go home on Jan. 5th. There will be No School for students on Jan. 17th and the Miss Carolina Academy Beauty Pageant on Jan. 29th; in between we will manage to play basketball on 10 days in January. Mark your blackberry and come join us.

Sparrow Reaches 1000 Points

The gym was packed, the tip off received, Samantha Sparrow gets the pass, follows through with a perfect layup. The buzzer sounds, play is stopped. What happened? Everybody knows except Samantha - she is met on the court by Coach Wall. He presents her with a basketball which reveals the fact -- Samantha has reached a milestone - the 1000 point mark in her career. Few players have the ability or opportunity to reach this level of achievement. Congratulations to you and to your teammates as you celebrate this accomplishment. Good luck with the remainder of the season.
