Throughout the summer we have been working to prepare for the 2011-2012 school year! I anxiously await the start of school on August 18th. As we prepare to open our doors for the 44rd year, we are moving forward on a number of fronts to ensure that the qualities that make our school special are secure for future generations.
I also look forward to working with you throughout the year as we strive to provide the highest level of programs and services for our students. As Head of School of The Carolina Academy, I have been given the opportunity to create partnerships with and meet many wonderful people. From K-12, we are blessed with teachers who are part of a caring and dedicated group, who recognize the critical importance of what they do! Just look at the Class of 2011: 23 graduates, 2 Palmetto Fellows, 18 Life or Hope Scholarships, and 100% accepted to college. Congratulations!
The Carolina Academy team is committed to providing a quality education in a safe environment for every child. Thank you for the finest compliment an independent school ever receives – the responsibility of educating your sons and daughters. Our school theme for the year is: Courage and Character to Achieve. We will continue to reinforce our core values and provide an environment that supports the students who are willing to take a stand for what they believe in. Society’s continual trend to value material success at the expense of honesty, compassion, fairness, and perseverance is enormously tempting, and much stronger than families can fight alone. We challenge the courage and character of our faculty and students and truly guide our children toward what is worth taking a risk for and above the ordinary!
